Casino Dice Control
The serious craps player is always looking for ways to better his odds. One controversial technique that many gamers swear by is known as Dice Control. The idea behind this is that the roll of a die can be moved from the realm of random motion into a predetermined result. Precision Shooters, as masters of this art are sometimes called, have at least two ways to try to score the point they want. First, they can “set” the dice, which involves arranging them in the hand in such a way that the desired numbers will turn up at the end of the roll. Then, they control the grip and release of the dice, turning the game into more of a target sport. There are many different grips to choose from and only through trial and error can the most effective one be found. The idea is to keep the dice spinning forward and not sideways, thus limiting the possible outcome of the roll. Most casinos require the dice to hit and bounce off the back of the craps table on the roll to insure randomness, but many believe that if they can manage to have the dice just barely brush the back wall, over time the odds will move into their favor.
