Five Ways to save Pennies whilst on Your Ski Trips

Published on February 10, 2009

The UK economy began to tank several months ago and it does not seem determined to recuperate in the foreseeable future. The economic slowdown, paired off with the historical low value of the pound sterling compared to the euro, and that yearly skiing trip begins to appear like much more of a expense than customary.

Holidaymakers have returned home from their skiing holidays in the alps with tales about the superb skiing conditions and the extortionate prices in resorts with costs higher than 33 % on this time last year. The better news is that there’s lots of cheaper vacations around, that in a lot of instances are compensating for the gain in prices in resort. But it is time to be money conscious. Fortuitously we have put together a list to saving on your luxury ski chalet holiday.

1. Smaller ski resorts will have both cheaper accommodation and lift passes
2. Go self catering and source your own food and avoid expensive restaurants
3. Pre Book Ski Gear online for good savings
4. Pay in pounds - book with operators who have kept their prices in pounds and not shifted to Euros
5. Shop in the valley instead of the ski resort if you’re on a self catered holiday
